Do you know that 53% women and 45% of men use a sex toy in the United States. Users of vibrators have better sexual experiences, and follow more closely their sexual health, according to two studies published in the Journal of Sexual Medicine.

The first study focuses on men and vibrators, and the second on women and sex toys.

The study on the use of vibrators by women shows that this use is related to positive sexual function, such as desire and orgasm, and rarely associated with side effects.

Over 52.5% of women have ever used a vibrator, and nearly one in four did so during the last month. The use of sex toys were significantly more likely than others to have followed a pelvic exam during the past year.

Using a sex toy for women is also associated with positive aspects such as sexual desire, lubrication, and orgasm among others.

Most women (71.5%) reported not having experienced any side effects associated with use of the vibrator. Side effects reported are short and very rare.

Men who used a sex toy is 44.8%. Heterosexuals and gays are also likely to have tried these sex toys.

91% of heterosexuals who have used sex toys have done during foreplay with their partner. 10% of men using a vibrator did during the last month, 14.2% in the past year and 20.5% have more than one year.

Men who used a vibrator, and especially in those who used a recently are generally vigilant about their sexual health, such as self-examination of testicles for example.

Men who used a vibrator or cock rings recently also feel better than others on average in four of the five domains of sexual function calculated by the “International index of erectile function,” association specializing in erectile function.
